hverigerði

dearest all,

over the weekend, i had a chance to get out of town for a day.

we went to hverigerði, just east of reykjavik, where there is a lot of geothermal activity.

after a hike, we spent a nice evening soaking in a warm/hot stream.

pretty nifty colors, eh?

note the steamy hole.

see how there is color around steamy holes,
but not so much anywhere else?

calm bit of boiling mud.

outside of the toxic greens, there were also some nice
reds, oranges, purples

we floated in this stream for some time, until sufficiently soggy

and then we had another mountain stroll.
