dearest all,
As of the beginning of June 2011, I am no longer posting to this blog. It will stand as a record of my time in Iceland, sure, but if you want something that is getting updated, head on over to the small blue cat.
best,

if the world vanished, would we notice?

dearest all,
it has been a while. i've been busy. there was an exhibition a week ago, and since i've been working like a badger. nearly the entire population at the residency is new, leaving me feeling a little odd, but change is good, they say, so i guess that means all is well.
jimmy and katie- best title ever.
title is in reference to the royal wedding, naturally

i had a collaborative piece[s] in the exhibition- 'how to catch a mouthful of demon' there were photos, drawings, a video, and a written guide. [i wrote the guide with an approach similar to that of a lab report, though catching a mouthful of demon is decidedly more qualitative than synthesizing aryl halides, so the report became nearly conversational at points.]

pictures by ella bertilsson; part of 'how to catch a mouthful of demon'
if anyone is interested, i could upload the actual text, but really, it is just this close to being very boring. at some point i'll link also to the video, but i don't currently have a copy of it. [all in good time, i suppose.]

and now for a little bit of other work at the exhibition.

monotypes by lene bennike

lava rocks and faux lava rocks by kerri reid
immo eyser's video piece from last month. [because the more recent work is not online yet, that i know of]

some locals and fellow artists. a good bunch, to be sure.
