dearest all,
As of the beginning of June 2011, I am no longer posting to this blog. It will stand as a record of my time in Iceland, sure, but if you want something that is getting updated, head on over to the small blue cat.
best,

a few pieces for the walls.

dearest all,
in this post, there are a few pictures of some greenware wall pieces as they are so far. none are finished. consider this a sneak peek. also in this post are a few extra photos, mostly of snow.
no ears yet. but soon.
also, more critters as a hat, maybe

been getting some quality studio time in, which has been nice. just in case that is too boring, we had some people over to the SÍM house for a dinner. we made chili and stew and soup, along with a nice variety of breads and cheeses. enough to feed a small army, which is good, because there were around 25 people in attendance.
wall piece on the left, full blown head on the right.
i was unable to get an accurate country count, but there were at least 9 countries represented, which is pretty neat.
another wall piece
since then i have done very little interesting. i went to Kolaportið, which is essentially a flea market. they had a fish market there as well, which smelled just as weird, but at least there you knew that the smell was fish. i think that flea markets are probably all pretty similar.
a fish made of bricks or stones? how odd.
i have some pipes
that i want to put on here too
i realised that i know very little about eating fish. i didn't buy any fish, partly because i wouldn't know what to do with it, and partly because i have serious issues spending money. i'll have to get over both of those things i suppose.

and now for some pictures in grey and blue:
much snow.
there are really big plows,
and they pushed all of the snow into that one big mound.
pretty impressive, right?
on tuesday i am giving a quick artist talk. should be interesting. i'll have to get readier soon.
some icicles. neat stuff.
as always, i'll try to post more soon, but sometimes i seem to get a little sidetracked.
a shot from the hip. kinda nice even though i missed.
until next time,
have the best of all possible days,
eric

  1. these are really nice. they all seem to have really sturdy and crooked noses... and of course those bricks look like they were real annoying to make which automatically means they look good. any possibility of horns?

so much snow! i'll try and send some nashville weather over there but that's just me saying something that doesn't make sense. keep up the good work!

  3. Fish heads, fish heads, roly-poly fish heads,
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum!

In the morning laughing happy fish heads
In the evening floating in the soup

Ask a fish head anything you want to
they won't answer, they can't talk

I took a fish head out to see a movie,
I didn't have to pay to get it in!

    They don't play baseball
    They don't wear sweaters,
    They're not good dancers,
    They don't play drums!

  5. I like the facial hair speckles. I wish Philly had the snow clearing abilities that Iceland apparently does.

  6. Is it 2 tree trunks, one broken and one sawed down on top of the first pictured head? Reminded me only very vaguely of Hell boy with the sawed of "horn" but not really as this was a person with trees not a demon with horns but you know... Per haps a younger face would have a set of intact but perhaps smaller plant life growing out of it's noggin??? Leaves would be terrible to make out of clay though I think!
